“Simply by hearing the Name of Nityananda, the harmful inclinations in the hearts of all the living entities in the whole universe are permanently uprooted, their inherent purity is automatically awakened, and even the most lost and suffering people become automatically self-realized in the Absolute Truth.” (CB 2.3.134 purport of SBSSTP)

● 1. Nityananda Is Adi Guru And Lord Of All Living Entities
“Nityananda is the Primary Manifestive Constituent of the Divinity. Nityananda alone possesses the distinctive function of the guru. In Nityananda the function is embodied. Nityananda is the servant-God. He serves Shri Gaurasundara by the distinctive method of reverential servitude. He is identical with Shri Balarama of Krishna-lila. Shri Balarama is not the chum of Krishna, but His respected elder brother. It is intimate relationship characterized by becoming reserved on one side and of respectful deference on the other. Individual souls are under the direction of Nityananda. They receive their service of Shri Gaurasundara i.e. of Krishna, at his hands. Nityananda is not a jiva. He is Divinity. He is the ultimate source of the jiva. The jiva is a potency of Nityananda. No jiva can be the medium of the service of the Absolute to another jiva. The Absolute alone may communicate His service to the separable constituents of Himself. ● 2. Nityananda’s Special Favor Is Necessary For Obtaining Radha’s Service
“But Nityananda does not directly instruct in the confidential service of Krishna. Shrimati Radhika is the guru of the inner circle of the servants of Krishna. Shrimati, however, accepts the offer of service of only those souls who are specially favored by Nityananda and are deemed by Him to be fit for Her service. There is, therefore a most intimate relationship between the function of Nityananda and that of Shrimati which is at once supplementary and inclusive of the former. ● 3. Nityananda Is The Ultimate Source Of The Jiva
“The dissociable individual soul is distinct from the divine categories. He is a particle of the marginal potency of the divinity. Shri Nityananda who is identical with Balarama is the ultimate source of the jiva. The conditioned soul is a particle of the marginal potency, who has been sent into this world by the will of the Purusa, viz., Vishnu reposing in the Causal Ocean, who is a plenary part of Nityananda exercising the divine function of creator of all mundane existence including the conditioned state without Himself belonging to the mundane plane.” (Source: Marginal Potency, Associates of Shri Chaitanya)
● 4. Nityananda’s Name Does Not Consider Offenses And Awards Krishna-prema
“Those who have taken shelter at the holy feet of Sri Caitanya and Nityananda (Sri Chaitanya’s Associated Counterpart) and have accepted Them as their Lords, shed tears out of love for Krishna on sincerely taking the pure Name in accordance with the above mentioned sloka “Trinadapi…” etc. We have stated just now that those who commit offence against the holy Name, fail to obtain the favour of Sri Krishna. But Sri Gauranga and Nityananda favour even offenders. An offender by taking the holy Name never obtains the love of Krishna, his final object. Those who follow Sri Gauranga and Nityananda as their Lords by constantly taking their Names during the period of offence, attain the fruit of the holy Name after being thereby liberated from the sinful state.
The truth underlying the above is that the offending novice betakes himself to the holy feet of Sri Gauranga and Nityananda for becoming fit to serve Krishna by getting rid of his ignorance (Avidya) viz. forgetfulness of his real nature (Svarupabhrama); also the holy Name of Krishna, which can only be taken by those who have realised their true self, are free from all offence and are ever engaged in serving Krishna, being chanted by a novice full of offence, never yields its fruit viz. the love of Krishna. For this reason the worship of Sri Gauranga and Sri Nityananda is more important and essential for the jiva in the fallen state than the worship of Krishna which is possible only in the free state
The novice is sure to commit offence due to want of spiritual training if he takes the holy Name like one liberated. But in worshipping Sri Gauranga and Nityananda the two world-teachers, if one betakes himself to Their holy feet even in the sinful state but without the pretence of being free, him Sri Gauranga and Nityananda enable to realise. Their own Form (Krishna) and His Manifestation (Baladeva) by freeing him from Ignorance {avidya) whereby the jiva attains the knowledge of his ownself and of the relation that subsists between Sri Gauranga-Nityananda and himself (svarupajnana).” (Source: The Holy Name)
● 5. Nityananda Awards Gopi Bhava To His Servants
“Demigods headed by Brahma cannot understand the gopis’ cultivation of Krsna consciousness. But Sri Nityananda Prabhu mercifully and freely gave His own servants the gopis’ attachment to Krsna, which is rare for even personalities like Brahma.” (Source: Commentary on CB 3.5.418-419)
● 6. Nityananda’s Mercy Is Very Essential To Attain Gaura Krishna
“The attempt to accept as God human beings who imitate Sri Caitanya is an act of foolishness. Svayam-rupa Krsnacandra does not give those whose hearts are polluted the power to realize His Gaura pastimes, which are meant for instructing all. Without the mercy of Sri Nityananda no one has the qualification to serve Sri Gaurasundara, to understand Him, or to attain love of Krsna.” (Source: Commentary on CB 3.2.114)
● 7. Nityananda Is Non-different From Gaura And Reveals Esoteric Tattva
“The one Lord has become two to teach devotional service. One can know Gaurachandra only through Nityananda.” Svayam-rupa and svayam-prakasa are one, just as each of the catur-vyuha, or quadruple expansions, are one. The most worshipable Sri Gaurasundara is svayam-rupa, and Sri Nityananda, the topmost devotee, is svayam-prakasa.” (CB 3.2.212)
“By following only the path of regulative principles, the worship of Gaurasundara is hindered. And also by transgressing Sri Nityananda, the service of Sri Gaurasundara is hindered. Sri Nityananda assists in Sri Gaurasundara’s preaching of ecstatic love of God in ten different forms. Only Sri Nityananda is able to reveal to the world the mystery of Sri Caitanya’s acceptance of ekadanda and, in the position of being without danda, His acceptance of tridanda. The Sìmad Bhagavatam has prescribed for the devotees of Visnu the process of accepting tridanda. Only the tridandis are able to actually attain the stage of paramahamsa, whereas ekadandis preaching the mundane concept of impersonalism cannot understand their own position. Sri Nityananda Prabhu alone is able to reveal many of the favorable items of spiritual consideration, like the characteristics and differences found in the ekadanda, which is a combination of jiva-danda with the tridanda of the Vedic sanatana-dharma, and how oneness can be the combination of many.” (Source: CB 3.3.212)

“Sri Nityananda Prabhu is directly svayam-prakasa-tattva. The holy name of the Lord and the Lord Himself combine together and manifest as svayam-prakasa Nityananda, the reservoir of transcendental happiness. Sri Nityananda Prabhu and the name Sri Nityananda are most relishable transcendental objects. ● 9. Even Atheists Become Liberated Souls By The Influence Of Nityananda
“Those who consider transcendental Vishnu and Vaishnavas as equal to mundane objects or ordinary persons are called pasandls, or atheists. Even such godless people would offer respect to Nityananda Prabhu when they saw Him. By seeing the Supreme Lord, their mundane conceptions based on material enjoyment were vanquished. Therefore they ended up surrendering everything to the Lord. Those who surrender everything to the Supreme Lord do not see the external world as the object of their enjoyment, in other words, they become liberated souls.” (Source: Commentary on CB 3.5.358)
● 10. Ignorance Is Destroyed Simply By Remembering Nityananda’s Servants

“The majority of the people in the world are attracted to sense gratification and liberation. ● 12. Without Nityananda’s Service There Is No Possibility Of Krishna’s Service
“Therefore, those who have not discussed the purport of the Vedic statement: nayam atma bala-hinena (“One cannot attain the goal of life without the mercy of Balarama”) are inevitably degraded. Without the mercy of Nityananda Prabhu, no living entity can attain any auspiciousness. ● 13. Nityananda Is One Without A Second
“Sri Nityananda Prabhu is Ananta, the supreme controller, and the origin of all Vaishnavas. He is the personification of His holy name and form. Temporary mundane names and forms are subordinate objects. In the Gopala-tapani Upanisad (1.44) it is stated: param brahma krsnatmako nityanandaika-rupah—”He is the Supreme Brahman, He is the expansion of Krsna, and He is the form of eternal bliss.” In the Niralamba-sruti it is stated: nityanandam akhandaika-rasam advitiyam—”He is eternally blissful, He is the source of all relishable relationships, and He is one without a second.” In the Mundaka Upanisad (3.2.1) it is stated: sa vedaitat paramam brahma-dhamayatra visvam nihitam bhati subhram—”A learned transcendentalist knows Lord Ananta, the superintending Deity of the spiritual world and the personification of the sandhini energy, in whom both the material and spiritual worlds rest.” (Source: Commentary on CB 3.7.38)

“By considering these statements from the scriptures, it is understood that by offering prayers or glorifying the names and qualities of Lord Nityananda Rama, who is the personification of Vaishnava scriptures, a living entity’s material designations or bondage, which are born out of nescience, are destroyed. “It should be understood that Shri Nityananda-Sankarsana Prabhu is the Supreme Absolute Truth, Lord Vishnu, so He is the qualitatively equal personal manifestation of the original Personality of Godhead, Lord Krishna. “Lord Sankarshana is situated in the heart of Lord Shiva. Considering Lord Sankarshana their worshipable Lord, Shiva and Parvati eternally worship Him with prayers. In this regard please see Srimad Bhagavatam (5.17.16-24). “On the strength of non duplicitous surrender to the lotus feet of Sri Nityananda Rama, a living entity achieves freedom from the conditioned state and becomes qualified to assist Shri Nityananda in His ten forms of service to Gaura-Krishna.
“Sri Thakura Narottama has sung: hena Nityananda vine bhai, radha-krishna paite nai, dridha kari’ dhara Nityanandara paya “Without the mercy of Lord Nityananda, no one can achieve Radha-Krishna. “No pure devotee of Gaura can criticize or tolerate criticism against Shri Nityananda Prabhu. If anyone thinks that the statements of Shri Advaita Prabhu towards Shri Nityananda Prabhu were criticisms, that is simply his misunderstanding and offense. One should not lose faith in the lotus feet of Nityananda, who is the only shelter and goal of all living entities, by considering the so-called criticism of Nityananda to be criticism, when it is actually glorification of Nityananda.” (Source: Commentary on CB 1.9.226)
● 25. Service Of Nityananda Guarantees The Merciful Glance Of Gaura
“If a living entity desiring his own welfare personally engages in the service of Shri Nityananda Prabhu WITHOUT TAKING ANY PART WHATSOEVER IN CRITICIZING Shri Nityananda Prabhu, personally or through others, he can be qualified to receive the mercy of Shriman Mahaprabhu. Simply by following in the footsteps of Sri Nityananda Prabhu, the merciful glance of Shri Gaura is guaranteed. “Only the dear servants of Sri Caitanyadeva can, by His mercy, understand the characteristics of Sri Nityananda. It is impossible for conditioned souls to take shelter of the lotus feet of Sri Nityananda. The truth regarding Nityananda is realized only by the grace of Sri Caitanya’s merciful form as the caitya-guru, the Supersoul. By uselessly and proudly advertising themselves as devotees of Caitanya, ordinary ignorant people who are averse to Caitanya cannot understand the most confidential pastimes of Nityananda. Those who are not awakened to spiritual consciousness have no entrance in the unmanifested most mysterious pastimes of Nityananda. Ignorant fools exhibit disgust on seeing the pastimes of Nityananda. ● 28. Nityananda’s Causeless Mercy Only Makes One Qualified To Worship Him
“Nityananda Prabhu is the master of the transcendental kingdom. One who is conditioned by material existence cannot serve Him with his gross or subtle bodies; but if by the causeless mercy of Nityananda Prabhu one is freed from the desire for material enjoyment, in other words, freed from the conceptions of “I” and “mine” related with the gross and subtle bodies, and one hankers to be merged in the ocean of service to the Absolute Truth, then he should simply serve Nityananda Prabhu with his body, mind, and speech. If one who is bound by the ropes of material existence mistakenly accepts the muddy poisonous canal of non devotion, in the form of material enjoyment and pseudo renunciation, as the ocean of devotional service, he can never serve Lord Nityananda, because Nityananda Svarupa is the personified manifestation of Shri Chaitanya.” (Source: Commentary on CB 1.17.152)
● Nityananda Revives The Constitutional Position Of The Living Entities
“The topmost uttama-adhikaris are pure devotees of the Lord. This is confirmed in the Srimad Bhagavatam (11.2.45) as follows: sarva-bhutesu yah pasyed bhagavad-bhavam atmanah bhutani bhagavaty atmany esa bhagavatottamah. “The most advanced devotee sees within everything the soul of all souls, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Sri Krsna. Consequently he sees everything in relation to the Supreme Lord and understands that everything that exists is eternally situated within the Lord.” Being the foremost of such liberated souls, the maha- bhagavata Sri Nityananda Prabhu is the origin of all pure devotees of the Lord. He is most effulgentand the basis of spiritual illumination. The reflection of His bodily effulgence revives the constitutional position of the living entities. Those who are under His shelter can also have similar effulgence. In the material conception of life there is an absence of spiritual effulgence; until one achieves spiritual realization, he cannot be freed from the contamination of forgetting his real identity. When the spiritual effulgence that emanates from Him and destroys the darkness of ignorance enters the heart of a person, his darkness of ignorance is vanquished.” (Source: Commentary on CB 2.3.124)
● Nityananda Removes Enjoying Mentality Of The Conditioned Souls
“Sri Caitanyadeva has pervaded the three worlds on the support of Nityananda. Sri Nityananda alone is the unparalleled effulgence of Sri Caitanyadeva. He is like the blazing sun in dissipating the darkness of the conditioned souls’ ignorance of identifying themselves as enjoyers. Sri Nityananda alone is most expert in enacting the pastimes of rendering ten forms of service to Sri Caitanyadeva. No other object may be compared with Him. ● Nityananda’s Words Are Most Purifying And Pleasing
“One who hears the words emanating from the lotus mouth of Nityananda Prabhu has no possibility of maintaining material conceptions. The conditioned souls proudly identify themselves as the doers and engage in material activities while considering themselves products of matter If the living entities hear the words of Sri Nityananda Prabhu, then their thirst for material enjoyment will be vanquished and their constitutional propensities will awaken. ● Simply By Hearing Nityananda’s Name One Becomes A Pure Devotee
“By His instructions, Sri Nityananda Prabhu removes the living entities’ absorption in matter and bestows eternal benefit on them. The living entities are then freed from material conceptions and travel to the spiritual kingdom. The external identification of liberated souls bewilders those who are engaged in identifying themselves with matter and entangles them in the laws of karma. In order to benefit persons who have mercantile propensities and those born in merchant families as well as fools who are condemned by people in general, Nityananda Prabhu, who is unlimitedly merciful, relieved them from their material conceptions. Just by hearing the name of Nityananda Prabhu, the people of the entire world are purified from the propensity for committing sin. Even the merchants, the fallen, and the foolish are purified and become knowers of the Absolute Truth and devotees of the Supreme Lord. ● 33. Nityananda’s Glories Are Very Rare And Is Attained By Great Fortune
“Sri Caitanyadeva is the all-in-all for the entire world and the life and soul of the fourteen worlds. The name Visvambhara is very rare in this world. This Visvambhara is Sri Caitanya. Those who sing the glories of taking shelter at the lotus feet of Nityananda, the dearmost servant of Sri Visvambhara, are also rare. ● 34. Nityananda Nourishes Conjugal Mellows In The Form Of The Younger Sister Of Radha
“Mahaprabhu said, “You should know Sri Nityananda Prabhu as the complete potency of Lord Krsna. He is the topmost among the servants of Krsna. Only by His mercy can one achieve devotion to Visnu. He is the form of Visnu presiding over the sandhinï potency. Although He is Lord Vishnu Himself, He nevertheless serves the supreme Visnu. He serves the origin of all visnu-tattvas. Only by His mercy is the living entities’ propensity for worshiping Hari awakened.” In His form as the younger sister of Radharani, Sri Nityananda Prabhu nourishes conjugal mellows. That is why Sri Thakura Narottama has said:
heno Nityananda vine bhai, radha-krsna paite nai, drdha kari’ dhara Nityanandara paya “Unless one takes shelter under the shade of the lotus feet of Lord Nityananda, it will be very difficult for him to approach Radha-Krsna. If one actually wants to enter into the dancing party of Radha-Krsna, he must firmly catch hold of the lotus feet of Lord Nityananda. ● 35. Nityananda Consciousness Quenches The Thirst For Loving Devotional Service
“Since Nityananda was always eager to serve Krsna in ecstatic love, simply by serving Him the serving propensity of persons who are thirsty after loving devotional service, to Krsna will be fully awakened. In Caitanya-caritamrta (Adi 5.204) it is stated as follows: jaya jaya nityananda-caranaravinda yanha haite painu sri-radha-govinda “All glory, all glory to the lotus feet of Lord Nityananda, by whose mercy I have attained Sri Radha-Govinda.” (Source: Commentary on CB 2.12.29)

“The phrase sarva-sevya-kalevara is described as follows: Sriman Nityananda Prabhu is svayam-prakasa, or the personal manifestation of the Supreme Lord. Therefore He is the worshipable Lord of everyone, both individually and collectively. From Him Karanodakasayi Maha-Visnu, who is the cause of all causes, Garbhodakasayi, who is the Supersoul of the collective living entities, and Aniruddha, the localized Visnu, are all manifest. The supreme worshipable Lord of all, Krsna, accepts the service of Nityananda, who is the embodiment of all service. ● 37. Nityananda Is The Only Hope For Conditioned Souls To Attain The Highest Confidential Service Of Radha, Her Sakhis, And Manjaris
“Sri Nityananda Prabhu is the emperor of the Vaishnavas. Pure Vaishnavas are always eager to serve the Lord in the mood of separation. By displaying the ideal example of serving Krsna in His pastimes of searching for Krsna, Sri Nityananda Prabhu has achieved domination over Lord Gaurasundara. No one has ever distributed such mercy on the Gaudiyas as Sri Nityananda has in His pastimes of awarding the ecstatic love for Krsna that was distributed by the munificence of Sri Caitanya. By His mercy there is a ray of hope that the living entities of this material world may become qualified for the service of Lord Gaurasundara’s intimate associates like Sri Gadadhara, Sri Rupa, Sri Sanatana, Sri Svarupa, and Sri Raghunatha. The activities of relishing the holy names by Vaisnavadhiraja Nityananda, who patiyache nama-hatta jivera karana—”has set up a marketplace for distributing the holy names to the living entities,” distinguish Him as the Acharya. ● 38. Without Nityananda No One Can Achieve Happiness In Life
