Just like Nityananda is extraordinary among all forms of Godhead, Srimati Jahnava Thakurani is also exceptional among the potencies of the Supreme. Nityananda Chand is Her life breath. Jahnavi Jivita Patih. She survives only by beholding His lotus feet. One cannot imagine the pain She endures even in a moment of separation from Him.
She fainted in Suryadas Sarakhela's angan and went into Maha samadhi just by overhearing that Her father had turned Nityananda away when He asked for Her hand in marriage (just for sake of pastimes).
Even though She was fully aware that Their reunion is ultimately inevitable, even the thought of being separated from Her Prananath for the time being was intolerable. She was only moments away from taking Her last breath when Nityananda was suddenly brought back to the courtyard by Suryadasa and Gauridasa, and the fragrance of His divine body entered into Her nose. Only the presence of Her Lord could revive Her once again.
When Nityananda disappeared the first time into Radha Shyamasundara in Khadaha, Jahnava Mata’s piteous cries compelled Him to come back. With how much separation must one call to force even the Supreme Lord to reappear?!
This is the same Jahnava Mata who continued to live in this material world even after Nityananda's disappearance just to deliver the fallen souls!!! We owe so much to Jahnava Devi. After all, as Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura says, She is Krishna Bhakti Guru.
The one for whom even the thought of being separated from Her Master means death, She willingly endured the excruciating pangs of viraha from Him just to share the love of Her most merciful Master for the deliverance of Kaliyuga souls.
Jahnava Ishvari was the one who took charge, on the order of Nityananda Prabhu, to protect the Gaudiya teachings and guide all the Vaishnavas. This is the greatest expression of Her benevolence and mercy. No other Shakti of the Supreme Lord ever undertook such a grave responsibility, or shall I say penance and hardship of sharing.
The reason is that the waves of vipralamba bhava are too violent to overcome. Even Srila Gadadhara Pandita, who is Radharani, disappeared shortly after Gauranga's disappearance.
Vishnupriya Devi Herself, although an ocean of mercy, would barely ever give darshan. She would always stay in Her inner quarters and meditate on the lotus feet of Prabhu Gauranga Vishwambhara, while chanting the holy names. Due to the unbearable pain of separation from Gauranga Mahaprabhu, She was not in the state to give audience to anyone.
Jahnava devi remained even after many of the Gaurparshadas had disappeared. She drank only milk and took nothing else. Srinivasa, Narottama and Shyamananda Thakura were the ones who were to distribute the mercy of the six Goswamis. She stayed back to personally guide Them.
It was by Her mercy that Nityananda Gaura and all Their associates reappeared in the Kheturi Kirtan in Srila Narottama dasa Thakura’s kirtan. Jahnava Mata’s role and contribution to Nityananda Gauranga’s movement is of topmost significance and definitely revolutionary. Nityananda Shakti ki jay!
Whenever there is some Nityananda Bhakti dilemma or crisis, immediately call out to Jahnava Devi! You can place all your faith in Her without a single speck of doubt that She will immediately come to your aid without any consideration of time and circumstances.
Even when the matter is absolutely hopeless and there seems to be no way left, you will be astonished how Jahnava Mata miraculously resolves the issue immediately. She is like the mother who comes running after the child just by receiving a small hint that her child is in trouble.
One who sincerely prays to Jahnava Devi never falls weak in Nityananda Bhakti! Maya’s attacks become only a myth.
We have no qualities. We have no qualifications. We are being tormented, tortured and harassed by the illusory energy Maya at every moment. There is no limit or boundaries to our miseries, nor are there any words sufficient to describe our pitiable condition.
Our personal strength is exhausted and efforts to overcome this misery have failed. We want to come out of Maya and engage in spiritual activities, but we are strongly bound. One thing is for sure, with our own efforts it is impossible to transcend. What then is our hope to cross this ocean of material nescience?

Jahnava Devi, Sri Nityananda Shakti and the mother of Bhakti, She is our only hope! But wait, why should She bestow Her mercy upon us? What qualification do we have - nothing. Koro aji nija gune, She does not wait to see our qualifications... She delivers us on the strength of Her own qualities!
We are adhama but She is maha uttama, and Her divine qualities and compassion very strongly overpower our fallen-ness. Our fallen nature stands nowhere in competition with Her compassion.
Ghuchao jontrona, only She is capable of mitigating our pain and miseries. She relieves us from our painful condition without any cause. Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura always begs Her shelter.
She is Nityananda's mercy, love, compassion and all His qualities personified. Who can surpass Her level of bestowing mercy.

Toda I offer a prayer at the lotus feet of Jahnava Mata that She will light up the intense fire of Nityananda Prema and Hare Krishna Rasa in my heart and then allow those flames to consume me fully.
A mother’s love is incomparable in the three worlds. It is the love of complete self abnegation, so pure and selfless. A mother gives away everything beginning from herself for her child.
All glories to Shri Jahnava Ishvari, who is the source of this material love and affection. Indeed the qualities of motherly affection which we see in this material world is only a semblance of Her pure love.
The foremost quality of any mother is that She must be approachable to the child ... in any circumstance, in any situation... with reason or without reason the child should be able to run to the mother and lay their head on her lap.
In any situation, the mother is the first person the child wants to run to or remember. Radharani is also our mother. But Her sister Jahnava who is completely non-different from Herself and actually even more merciful and karunamayi is even more approachable for all souls.
And in truth Yugala Kishora (Radha Krishna) can only be properly appreciated when we have adequately honoured Yugala Murti (Jahnava Nityananda). Just like Nityananda cares for us like a doting father, Jahnava devi cuddles fallen souls like us in Her blanket of pure motherly affection. Where else will we find such love?!
There is a reason that Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura composed: bhavarnave pade mor, where it is lucidly described... while displaying our pitiful condition that Jahnava devi is our only hope to rescued from this deadly ocean of material existence.
Such a song has not been written for any other shakti swarupa of any other Lord. Only for Nityananda Shakti. Of course, this is no cause of astonishment. Only Nityananda Shakti could possess the necessary compassion and mercy needed to envelope abominably fallen souls in the cooling shade of Her lotus feet.

Just like we get the rare chance to pull on Nityananda’s nilambara dhoti while imploring Him to take us as His during Namlekhan, we also become blessed with the extremely extremely rare chance to touch the dust of Jahnava Devi’s Lotus feet and mentally offer this prayer of Thakura Bhaktivinoda to Her.
Jahnava Mata is really confidential, but Namlekhan is so merciful... it freely blesses one with the benediction of Her association! A single day gone by without remembering or visualizing or singing the names of Nityananda and His most merciful associates is a day gone to utter waste in our quest for Hare Krishna Rasa. And, She does these everything by absorbing you in the nectar of Hare Krishna Maha Mantra. Kirtan or hearing of Jahnava Nityananda’s Names and Pastimes gives you full absorption in chanting Sri Harinama.
